Mental Health Curricula Project

Phase One of the Mental Health in Tertiary Curricula for Dietitians was funded in 2007/2008 under the Australian Government’s commitment to the Council of Australian Governments National Action Plan on Mental Health. The project identified the current and future needs of dietitians in relation to mental health issues, reviewed entry level competencies for dietitians in relation to mental health and made recommendations on training for dietitians with respect to mental health. The project also strengthened the engagement of dietitians with the mental health sector and built capacity through the involvement of consumer representatives in the steering committee, liaison with the Mental Health Council of Australia and the establishment of the DAA Mental Health Interest Group.
