Responses to misinformation

DAA, DAA Spokespeople and DAA membersĀ are constantly discussing credible nutrition information with the public, through the media. This:

  • Positions APDs as the experts in this arena
  • Helps to ‘dilute’ the incorrect and misleading nutrition information that is sometimes printed or aired.

But DAA also regularly responds to inaccurate or misleading stories on nutrition.

APDs play a role in addressing misinformation

DAA encourages APDs (and members of the public) to alert DAA to poor reporting on nutrition issues, and to also contact the media as individuals at any time to express dissatisfaction with inaccurate nutrition stories that are printed or aired. Most media outlets have details on their website on how to write to the editor or producer.
