Awards
The Dietitians Association of Australia recognises members who excel in a leadership role or who make an outstanding contribution to the profession or the Association. The current awards of the Association are as follows:
Recognition of Service and Achievement
Honorary Life Membership
Any Member who has given long, continued and outstanding service to the profession of dietetics may be elected by the Board as an Honorary Life Member.
Fellow of DAA (FDAA)
This is awarded to high profile and proactive leaders who are recognised as experts both nationally and internationally.

Outstanding Contribution Award
This award recognises outstanding contribution of members to the Association and/or the profession given at the National level over a three year period.

DAA Young Achievers Award in memory of Joan Mary Woodhill
This award is to encourage more junior members of the profession to join and actively participate in DAA activities. It recognises leadership and service. One award may be presented annually.

Award of Merit
The award recognises substantial contributions at either a branch, local or national level by members who may nor qualify for other awards. Also including Recognition of Services, Directors – Presented to Directors at the end of their term of office.

Barbara Chester Award of Merit (Queensland Members only)

Staff
Meritorious Service – where a member of DAA staff, or a contractor who is a member, demonstrates outstanding commitment to the association and provides a level of service above and beyond the requirements of their position or contract.
Recognition of Service - certificate presented to staff for each ten years of completed service.
Lectures in Honour
DAA has a long history of annually inviting an eminent member to present a special oration usually at the DAA National Conference. This is considered an honour by the association. Since 1999 this has taken the form of a Lecture in Honour of a member who has made major contributions to the Association and the profession in the past.
