Please consider the following points when viewing information about DAA accreditation of dietetic programs. For further detail on the accreditation process and requirements please refer to the Manual for accreditation of dietetic education programs.

  • Only graduates of accredited dietetic programs are eligible to become DAA members with dietetic qualifications, and to join the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) Program.
  • Provisional accreditation is generally awarded to either recently established dietetic programs who have not yet graduated students or to established programs as an alternative to full accreditation to ensure regular communication on how the program is meeting its accreditation responsibilities.
  • Full accreditation is generally awarded to dietetic programs with at least one or more cohorts of graduates.
  • Both provisional and full accreditation may be subject to conditions.
  • All dietetic programs are required to undergo an accreditation review on a regular basis.
  • Accreditation can be suspended and subsequently withdrawn if a program fails to demonstrate ongoing compliance with the accreditation requirements.
