Membership upgrade or downgrade

Student upgrade to full member

If you have completed your studies, you will need to upgrade from student to full member, selecting a fee level that reflects your employment status (please see membership options for more information about fee levels).

You will need to provide evidence of your course completion (please see Supporting Documentation for more information). Depending what part of the year you upgrade, you may pay a pro-rata full member fee.

Please contact our Membership Officer after you post out your supporting documentation to discuss your membership upgrade details.

Returning to full time study

If you are a full member returning to full time study (e.g. completing your PhD), you may elect to change to the Full Time Study category to reduce your member fees while you are studying. Please see membership options for more information about fee levels. Please see Supporting Documentation/Full time Study for full details.

Fee remission for study purposes is only available to full time students who are undertaking studies that will further the profession of dietetics, and who are working less than eight hours per week.

Upgrading your membership

If your employment status has changed, for example you were previously unemployed or working part time, and are now working full time, you need to upgrade your membership category to reflect the change. Please see membership options for more information about fee levels.

Your upgrade fee will be calculated as a pro-rata difference between your old and your new fee level.

Downgrading your membership

Our member fee policy states that refunds will not be issued if you change your employment status during the membership year, for example if you become unemployed or take time off to have a baby.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, or there are extenuating circumstances, you can apply for a refund in writing to the Chief Executive Officer.

Contact our Membership Officer for any further information.
