How do the new Aged Care Quality Standards, that came into effect on 1 July 2019, influence dietetic practice? This series of eight, 30-minute prerecorded webinars will provide an introductory overview of a dietitian’s role in meeting the Quality Standards, including case studies of their practical application in residential and community settings. It will also explore how dietitians can advocate for improved food and nutrition processes.
Audience: Dietitians with limited knowledge or experience with the new Quality Standards.
- To identify and promote the role that dietitians have in supporting organisations to meet the new Aged Care Quality Standards relating to food and nutrition.
- To advocate for better quality food and nutrition processes in aged care through understanding how the Standards relate to dietetic practice.
- To interpret the Quality Standards to promote higher quality food and mealtime services, by supporting organisations to facilitate change through all aspects of meal planning, meal-time services and meeting nutrition requirements for consumers.
